I would like to thank my family and friends who gave their time, support, and love to help make this project possible, particularly my Mom, Dad, Sister, and Brother, Jaron and Rachael for making the trip to Chicago to record while pregnant, and Charlie Gullion and Christina Kim for moral support in the studio. To Scott Steinman for tirelessly working 14 hour days in the studio, and for his invaluable creative advice in the ways of audio production. And to my musicians, whose creativity and distinct musical personalities give life to my compositions.

Sandlapper’s Mood is dedicated to my Great Aunt Nellie, who composed the South Carolina Tricentennial Songs including “We are Good Sandlappers.” Birdsong is dedicated to my dear mother Carole Lyles and to my sittoo Doris Howayeck Howard, who once encouraged me to write a symphony of love. So I did.
